Born in Zululand to a teacher and a doctor, ADAM KETHRO saw his school years fly by in Welkom, Brakpan and Durban. After two attempts at matric, a short dip as a stoker on the Railways, and a stint in the Army’s horse division, he began his career in the shipping industry.
Adam spent 25 years building, running and growing his company, Bridge Shipping, which is today the biggest logistics company in Southern Africa, and he travelled the world. He then began his second career, for a further ten years, as a beef cattle farmer, importer of agricultural equipment and racehorse trainer in the Natal Midlands.
Married to Cathy, and father of two magnificent sons, Adam has now retired to Cape Town to write and contemplate the mountain, the world, and what comes next!
Pleasures of the Harbour is Adam’s first novel.
